5) Common configuration errors

5.1 Why won't my EFETBox register in the Messengers as an adapter?

The Messenger needs an activation key. If the initial trial activation key has expired, the Messenger will not accept requests from the EFETBox. Please install your provided EFETNet license key into the Messenger as soon as possible. Another reason for a adapter registration problem maybe the security valve settings in the which may not allow a connection from the efet box machine's IP address. Please check the security valve settings located at tomcat-5.0.28\conf\ Catalina\localhost\pontonxp.xml

5.2 Why won't my EFETBox proccess the documents from the hotfolder?

It is possible that you accidentally dropped the documents into the messengers hotfolder, not in the hotfolder for the EFETBox. The efetbox hotfolder is located under the efet\webroot\ WEB-INF\hotfolder-box. Please check also if the hotfolder has no illegal characters in its path. Check your operating system manual on which characters are allowed on your system. If your hotfolder is on a shared network drive, make sure the EFETBox has access to this folder, especially if the EFETBox runs as a service, which user rights are not that of the install user, but of the administrator of that machine.
Also possible is that two instances of the EFETBox are running on the same hotfolder. There are other possibilities including, but not limited, to: configuration errors, wrong security settings. Please contact the helpdesk with the log files at hand.
