1) Partner profiles
1.1 How do I avoid mixing messages between production and test systems?
Ponton provides a central partner profile database called registry. See also Question 1.2. On your productive Messenger use your assigned registry username/password for live partner profiles, e.g. electrabel_prod. On any test Messenger installation use your assigned test account to get test profiles.
1.2 How is the registry organized?
The registry is divided into users and groups. There are two relevant groups for EFETNet: production and test. Every user belongs to one group. So every user is either a productive user or a test user.
1.3 How do I get hold of a username/password?
The Ponton Helpdesk will provide you with a user/password combination for the registry. Normally, you will receive a productive and a test user account.
1.4 I can't access the registry, why?
Your company has to allow web traffic with the Ponton registry server. Additionally, the http extensions for web-dav have to be allowed. See also "Company Security and Infrastructure" in this FAQ.
1.5 My IP address/EIC-Code/communication parameters have changed. How do I inform my counterparties?
Upload your new profile to the registry. Inform your counterparties, that your communication parameters have changed. If you have changed your IP address, your partners may have to pierce their firewall to allow communications. This may take a while, so inform the counterparties in advance before changing a running system.
1.6 When should I use automatic updating of profiles?
If your system has connection to the Ponton registry, you should activate automatic updates. Changes in the profiles of your counterparty will then be uploaded to your machine on a regular basis.
